STORY

How do we honor our culture? How do we retain the values and principles instilled by our parents? As first-generation Americans, we have struggled with this answer. As our parents grow older, we can feel the links to Pakistan slipping from our grasps. How do we not only retain our customs but share this rich, vibrant culture with those around us? The answer is Cha Company. Why Cha? Cha is synonymous with family, friends and home. When looking back in memories, cha was the focal point at every family gathering, at every celebration, at every commemoration. It was served at every integral moment that changed the course of our lives. We hope to bring that same feeling of home, family, resilience, and celebration in every cup served. The Cha Company’s vision is to provide a place that helps to connect our customers with the vibrant cultures of Pakistan. The Cha Co is a place where people can connect, sit, chat, while enjoying traditional Pakistani tea and snacks.

OUR TEAM

SOFHIA QAMAR

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Sofhia has a passion for giving back to the community. She began her career as a high school teacher, hoping to instill the value of education in immigrant children. With Cha, she hopes to provide comfort and joy to the Pakistani community by bringing a little bit of home to their adopted country.

SUHAIL KAMRAN

Suhail migrated to the US in early 2000 to attend college, but he left his heart in Pakistan. In Pakistan, he would hit every dhaba, every street vendor, to gather memories to help him pass the days he would have to spend away from home. With the Cha Company, he hopes to provide those like him with a place where they can experience Pakistan.

SABA QAMAR

Born and raised in Pakistan, Saba migrated to the US in the 1990s. She is a natural-born entrepreneur who strives to bring unique but authentic experiences to customers. She puts her heart into ensuring that not only is the food tasteful and amazing, but that it is visually captivating.

One of our main priorities is to serve fresh products. When walking down a busy street in Pakistan, your senses are hit by the amazing sights and smells of the food being prepared in every corner. You can hear the sizzling of the samosas; you can see the chais overflowing from the hot stoves.

One thing that the co-founders put in stone was serving fresh. From meats to breads, everything is crafted in house. We go to great depths to ensure that we provide quality ingredients that are grown, fed and supplied in a sustainable manner.

Our team prides itself in preparing for every outcome, but we acknowledge that sometimes mistakes happen. However, our philosophy is to put customers before profit, and we promise that we will work to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible.

We believe that responsible businesses not only invest in their customers but also invest in their community. As such, we’re committed to donating 10% of our proceeds to the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia, as well as the Central Virginia Food Bank.
